01 Short bio
Ranjeeta Raam is an Indian writer currently living in Dubai. She writes MG and upper MG. Her first novel, If Elephants Could Talk, is a middle-grade contemporary fiction, written in verse; her second, I Am Archa, arrives from Hachette India on 16 July 2026. Writing brought her close to her culture, and she is now very keen to bring out those aspects of it that the world knows very little of. Culture, environment, social awareness, animal welfare, and empathy are some things very close to her heart, and she hopes to raise awareness about these in her kid readers.
02 Long bio
Ranjeeta Raam is a children's writer from India. She worked in different areas of writing before leaving her last job as a scriptwriter to become a full-time novelist. She writes middle-grade novels in verse and believes in the economy of words to tell a powerful story. Her first novel, If Elephants Could Talk, is a middle-grade contemporary fiction praised by Dia Mirza and Padma Venkatraman. Her second novel, I Am Archa — a retelling of the legend of Unniarcha, with early praise from Shashi Tharoor and Manu S. Pillai — releases from Hachette India on 16 July 2026.
Culture, environment, social awareness, animal welfare, and empathy are some things very close to her heart. When she isn't writing, she can be found playing baordgames with her family, having a cup of chai with her friends, or reading outside in her garden with her cats. Currently, she lives in Dubai with her husband, two girls and two cats.
